SOBRE MI
¡Bienvenidos a 2do grado! Estoy muy emocionada de ser la maestra de su estudiante. Espero este año escolar su estudiante logre todas sus metas y hasta las supere. Soy de la creencia que la educacion es un derecho que se merecen TODOS. Por eso siento que es mi deber educarme para poder preparar a su estudiante con una educacion de calidad. Hice mi bachillerato en la Universidad Northeastern Illinois en 2005. Despues saque mi Maestria en Educacion Elemental en la Universidad Roosevelt. No me senti satisfecha y me ingrese en la Universidad de Illinois en Chicago para una Maestria en Educación Bilingüe.
Empecé mi carrera enseñando tercer grado en la escuela Brentano en la barriada de Logan Square. Desfortunadamente no pude mantener mi posición debido a la baja poblacion que se enfretaba la escuela. Afortunadamente, encontre un nuevo hogar en la escuela Goudy donde cumplo mi decimo año como maestra. He ensenado tercer, cuarto y Kinder y este es mi primera vez ensenando segundo grado.
Reconozco el valor de la educación, especialmente, siendo madre. Mi esposo y yo somos padres de una niña sumamente activa y un un nino aun mas activo y nos enorgullese ser sus padres todos los dÃas. Soy la hija mayor de una madre Panameña y mi padre fue de desendencia Irlandesa. Ambos de mis padres entendienron el valor social, cultural y educativo que lo es ser bilingüe y por eso mis tres hermanas, mi hermano y yo somos bilingües. Mi familia son un recurso de fuerza y amor para mi y no se que seria de mi sin su amistad, apoyo y motivación.
ABOUT ME

Welcome to 2nd grade! I'm very excited to be your student's teacher. I hope this school year your student accomplishes all their goals and even surpasses them. I believe that education is a right EVERY human being deserves. That's why I feel it is my responsibility to educate myself to better prepare your student to a quality education. I received my Bachelor's degree at Northeastern Illinois University. I then got my Masters Degree at Roosevelt Universtiy in Elementary Education. I finally, received a second Masters degree in Bilingual Education at University of Illinois at Chicago.
I started my career as a third grade teacher at Brentano Math and Science Academy located in the Logan Square neighborhood. Unfortunately thier enrollment numbers were too few to keep me. Fortunately, I was able to find a new home at Goudy School and this year I celebrate my tenth year teaching. I've always been a third and fourth grade teacher and I taught Kindergarten, too. It was a huge change, but I've always loved a challenge!
I recognize the value of an education, especially being a mother. My husband and I are the parents of an extremely active little girl and even busier little boy. They make us proud every single day. I am the eldest daughter of a Panamanian mother and my father was of Irish descent. Both my parents understood the social, cultural and educational value of being bilingual and therefore my three sisters, my brother and I grew up bilingual. My family is a great source of strength and love for me and I cannot imagine my a life without their friendship, support and encouragement.
